Have you been told you need braces? Do you shudder at the thought of metal wires on your smile? What if you could correct your crooked teeth discreetly and almost invisibly?
Dr. Rod Strober has helped hundreds of patients, including adults and teens, to enjoy straighter teeth through the revolutionary Invisalign system. As a cosmetic dentist, he’s helped so many patients, in fact, that he has been named a Premier Provider. Therapy involves wearing a series of clear, custom-made, removable aligners instead of traditional metal braces.
How They Work
Invisalign works using the same basic principles as traditional braces. Under pressure, your body will reshape its bones. By applying pressure to your teeth, they cause your body to remove bone from the areas that are stressed and build it up where it is sensing less stress. As the bone is slowly remade around your teeth, they move gradually into place.
The only difference is that traditional braces use metal wires and brackets to pull your teeth into position, while Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to gently push your teeth into place.
Benefits of Invisalign
Although Invisalign has not been around nearly as long as traditional orthodontics, it is quickly growing in popularity because of the advantages it offers, including:
- It’s almost impossible to see
- Aligners are completely removable so there’s no diet restrictions
- No special cleaning required
- Comfortable smooth plastic aligners rather than metal brackets and wire that can catch and cut
- Treatment time and cost comparable to traditional braces
Invisalign makes getting your teeth straightened much less of a sacrifice, and you can get it done without anyone knowing because you won’t have a mouth full of metal.
iTero Digital Imaging
Strober Dental is also proud to offer iTero digital imaging for Invisalign. Now there’s no need to bite into a tray of sticky goo to make impressions for your Invisalign treatment. We’ll use the digital scanner to map your teeth out right in our office. And because it’s a digital impression, we can send it electronically. That means they get the impression faster–and you get your first set of aligners faster. And that impression is always there for reference.
Are You a Candidate?
At your consultation, Dr. Strober will thoroughly examine your bite and tell you what these braces can do for your smile. Working with the Invisalign lab, he will create a custom treatment plan with 3D images of your teeth.
Upon your approval, a series of clear aligners will be fabricated for you. You’ll change your aligner about every two weeks and check in with Dr. Strober to evaluate your progress every six weeks. For Invisalign to work its magic, you’ll need to wear your aligner about 22 hours a day, but you have the freedom to remove them for meals, special occasions, and routine oral hygiene.
